CRN Fight Night is one of the UK IT industry’s most eagerly anticipated events, having raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for worthy causes over the past decade. As ever, Trend Micro is showing its continued support for the channel as one of the main sponsors. But there’s an even greater commitment this year: I’ll be stepping into the ring for the first time to battle it out for my chosen charity, Rainbow Trust.
It promises to be a great, if bruising, night. Let’s hope we all raise a ton of money.
Power to the partners
The partner ecosystem has always been the lifeblood of Trend Micro’s business. In the UK we’ve renewed our focus over the past few years on our relationships with VARs, systems integrators, and other key partners who help bring our award-winning range of solutions to market. That’s led to a significant expansion of our sales and technical support teams, and a healthy return on these investments.
As important as business is, when it comes to channel relationships, you can’t underestimate the value of events like CRN Fight Night. Now in its tenth year, hundreds of industry professionals will flock to The Brewery venue in central London later this month to cheer on their channel heroes and let their hair down for a good cause. It’s also a great opportunity for Trenders to cement relationships with key partners and network with prospects.
Coming just a fortnight before Infosecurity Europe, where Trend Micro will also have a major presence this year, we hope it’ll be the start of a really productive few weeks for us.
Like all the other fighters at the event, I’ve been lucky enough to be chosen from over 200 applicants to take part in one of 10 bouts this year. My chosen charity, Rainbow Trust, supports families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness. With an estimated 49,000 children in the UK today living with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition who may require palliative care, I’m sure you’ll agree this is a cause worth fighting for.
At the time of writing we’re well on the way to raising our target of £2,500 for Rainbow Trust, thanks to the generosity of friends and colleagues at Trend Micro. If you’d like to get involved, please visit my dedicated page on Virgin Money Giving.
With just two weeks to go, I can’t wait to get in the ring and fly the flag for Trend Micro, and Rainbow Trust. Bring it on!
