At Trend Micro we spend each and every day trying to make the digital world a safer place. And we’ve become pretty good at it over the past 30 years, blocking over 20.4 billion threats in the first half of 2018 alone. But that’s not the full story. Our corporate DNA is also hard-wired to helping society more broadly, through a range of regular initiatives and sponsorship of worthy causes. The problem is selecting the latter from the huge variety out there.
Fortunately, in the UK our job was made very easy thanks to the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST): a charity that makes a huge difference to wounded, injured or sick personnel and veterans. On Monday we held our Climb Everest Challenge to raise money and awareness for the AFPST.
Trend Micro’s mission is first and foremost to make the world a safer place in which to exchange digital information. But we’ve always tried to do so with a keen sense of what it takes to be a responsible corporate citizen. Our partnerships around the world have seen us invest in various initiatives to help build and develop local communities.

At Trend Micro, we’ve been protecting our global customers from cyber threats for over 28 years now. But what many people might not be aware of is that throughout that time we’ve also been keenly aware of what it takes to be a socially responsible corporate citizen. In fact, since 2008 the we’ve set aside 1% of the previous year’s post-GAAP profits to fund Global Citizenship programmes.
